Review of Wrong Turn 2 : Dead End (SPOILER FREE!)

Wrong Turn 2 : Dead End , another straight to DVD sequel not worth our time? Could this movie be something more then that? In this writers opinion I would have to venture to say that, yes, it is much more then that. The sequel is not directed by Rob Schmidt, the director of the first Wrong Turn that was released in theaters. This movie is directed by Joe Lynch, and he did a very good job bringing over the feel of the first movie into the second, if not did a better job.
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is about the same back road West Virgina woodlands and the same inbred freaks featured in the first movie, plus a few new freaks to add to the cast. This film is about a group of young men and women who are filming for a Survivor like reality show in the woods. They soon find out the woods just so happen to belong to a family of cannibal inbreds who make their living hunting, killing, and yes eventually eating their victims. As the cast and crew of the movie start disappearing they soon realize they are not in the woods by themselves. They then fight for their lives to find their way out of the middle of nowhere with the cannibal killers right on their toes.
The movie has a not so well known cast, which I think adds a bit of skepticism for anyone who wanted to purchase this movie. Some of the actors and actresses in this film are Henry Rollins, Texas Battle, Erica Leerhsen, and Steve Braun just to name a few.Considering the actors may not be the most famous actors out there, they do a fantastic job. When you are watching the movie you can almost feel every footstep, scream and slash.
Wrong Turn 2 : Dead End is one of the few straight to DVD movies I have seen that I enjoyed a good bit. It had plenty of blood, guts, and death to make any horror movie fan quiver in joy. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that was a fan of the first movie and wants to go on a new horror ride.I however have to say however this movie is NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH. I will be watching Wrong Turn 3 : Left for Dead so be looking for my review of that very soon!
